Thank You Card

I had the privilege of illustrating the event's thank you cards, as well as donating several collections of my own artwork and greeting cards to the silent auction to help fundraise.

Project X: Brushstrokes

Solving X - In Association with SickKids

I was very honoured to be a small part of a wonderful fund-raising event titled Project Brushstrokes, which raised over $17,000 for the SickKids Centre for Braind & Mental Health Chase-an-Idea catalust grant for ALD research.

Solving X is a non-profit organization that is meant to act as a resource for those looking to learn more about ALD. The name derives from the X-chromosome that carries the disease. The non-profit website acts as a hub of information, a support group and an incubator for carious fundraising campaigns to help families with ALD. Their mission is to solve the X problem once and for all.

Adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD) is an X-linked genetic disease affecting the central nervous system of children (and adults) who inherit the genetic defect. The myelin sheath, an important component of brain cells, is degraded and can cause motor deficits and eventual paralysis. The average age of diagnosis is 7 years old, and it affects 1 in 18,000 people.
